The revolution in the world of wireless charging: here are all the innovations planned for 2024.

Did you think the introduction of Type-C charging on the new iPhones was the real news for the near future? Not so, here's why:

Apple's new devices have recently been announced and obviously there have been some interesting innovations, especially from the point of view of charging. At last, the new devices have been equipped with the USB-C port that has been too long overdue. This novelty met the expectations of many people who wondered when unification would take place across the entire range of Apple devices. From this point of view, we have always been attentive to our customers' needs. In fact, until now, our 3-in-1 cable has made it possible to charge all devices via a single product. The most sensational announcement was about the future of wireless charging, which is likely to mark a new era in the global technological landscape.

The WPC Wireless Charging Alliance officially released the latest Qi 2.0 standard on 21 March this year. This new standard added the Magnetic Power Profile (MPP), which optimises the charging process by improving the alignment of the power transmitter. The technology was developed in collaboration with WPC member Apple, taking as its basis the MagSafe technology already present on the latest products. This technology will actually bring about a significant improvement in wireless charging and user experience, paving the way for further technological developments and is likely to become the global mainstream standard for wireless charging, thereby unifying the entire industry.

Hongbiao certification on 26 August 2023 in Shenzhen, China, a seminar was held on Qi 2.0 Technology Micrometric Research, an event attended by a delegation of Chinese partners of the Dudùu brand, opening up the brand's future in the world of innovative wireless charging.

Due to increased efficiency, the Qi2 standard will also increase the safety and efficiency of the charging process, while reducing the impact on the battery in terms of wear and tear or, worse, possible damage. The magnetic docking system helps to align the components of the charging adapter and the device in such a way as to achieve the best possible charging efficiency while avoiding wasted energy and charging speed. There are also other advantages, such as the possibility of charging devices with innovative form factors, as charging can also take place on unconventionally shaped devices, through surfaces that are not perfectly flat.

Qi currently supports a maximum charging speed of 15W, however Apple limits charging power to 7.5W unless using an official MagSafe device. Although some products are indicated as MagSafe compatible because they have the magnets for quick attachment to Apple devices, they are limited to 7.5W charging power because they do not have official certification. This new standard will help clarify this as well as enable faster charging speeds and improve safety and energy efficiency.

Sthe higher power expansion plans are also planned, which will be expanded in the future up to 50W, in this evolutionary manoeuvre the controller is WPC while the main promoter is Apple. If you thought that the news on charging was focused on the introduction of Type-C you were wrong, the real revolution will come with the new iPhone which will support Qi 2.0 charging at 30w via MagSafe.
